Reaper Vow The Shadow Reapers Sarah McCarty Books

Reaper Vow The Shadow Reapers Sarah McCarty Books
I have read the Shadow Reapers series and I have enjoyed them all except this one and it's made worse having paid to read this e-book. For a secret society that's in hiding from their own kind and from humans, an awful lot of their own kind know about them and their location. This story seemed to drag on and on, going over and saying the same things. If I had to hear the main male character (Cole Cameron) say "I'm a Cameron and I'm going to stay that way" (in reference to not becoming a Reaper) I was going to scream (louder)! There was not the connection or love (ever) between the 2 characters (Miranda and Cole), she was with Cole because she (who was told many many times) had to have protection which meant she had to be mated, even though she was doing fine w/o being mated/married. The "council" was forcing her to mate with a man that already had a mate, was a wife and child beater and who nobody liked, AND the "in hiding, small community" agreed with the council, even after Miranda refused the mating and told them what kind of man the guy was and said they would be condoning rape if they forced her, still NONE of them cared!! NOW COME ON!!!! For a series that was supposed to protect women and children they allowed and created a lot of bad stuff to happen to said women and children. I for one wished I would have saved my money and passed on this story, I gave it 3 stars instead of 2 because I do like this author.

Reaper Vow The Shadow Reapers Sarah McCarty Books Reviews
one of the hardest hitting books from McCarty. It's a deeply, emotionally hard hitting story. And that's just half-way through the book.
The emotions between Addy and Isaiah, Miranda and Cole is so touching it causes tears and almost desperation for their love. So many things working against them yet, the fight on for each other and their love. If you haven't red any of the Sarah McCarty's books, Reapers Vo will make you rush to your favorite on-line book source and start clicking. Starting with The Shadow Wranglers and of course, The Shadow Reapers, you have got to read these fantastic stories.
No Spoliers Here! I got started with Sarah McCarty with her other series "Hell's Eight" and bought one of her Reaper's by accident thinking it was from the other series. In some ways these series are completely different, but in other ways they are essentially the same. The Reaper's were "created"? It's not exactly clear, just like it is to them. They are like a werewolf, but not quite-hard to explain, but an interesting read. The Hell's Eight is more a historic western. I was a little disappointed that a full explanation as to their backgrounds and creation has been fully sussed out yet, but McCarty may be doing this as the series progresses.
The only bad thing I have to say about this book is that it took too long to come out. But to me the story was well worth the wait.
I loved Cole Cameron’s drive and determination, how could a man like that give up on finding his cousin. So self-assured that when faced with a decision most would not think twice about he chose to believe in himself and what he was. His interaction with Miranda and her daughter showed that there was a balance between his soft side and his alpha male side.
Miranda so scared in so many ways yet brave enough to take a chance on stranger that didn’t belong in her world. For so long she has had no control over her life or say in the decisions that will not only affect her but her daughter. Ms. McCarty did and awesome job of giving her way to get her own life back, one she could chose and share with the man she loved.
I was surprised by the ending but not disappointed it made sense, a mother giving her daughter and others the chance to make a choice. And she gets the hot guy too. Happily Ever After doesn’t get much better than that.
I would recommend this book and pretty much everything this author writes. I have never been disappointed and always look forward to the next new book.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book! I love Sarah Mccarty's Hell's Eight and Promises series! They are wonderful! This is a paranormal historical romance and it was really good! I loved the hero Cole! He was sexy and honorable. His actions showed he was totally in love with Miranda and her daughter Wendy. The author did a great job showing a loving relationship between Cole and Miranda's young daughter... I laughed out loud at some of their conversations! Wendy is going to grow up to be a spitfire in her own right! Cole did many heroic acts that showed his true character... and did I mention he was alpha sexy! Miranda was a wonderful heroine. She has had a hard life but stayed strong and courageous. She's a good mother to her child and tries to make good choices for herself and Wendy. If you like tender and hot western historical romances with some paranormal elements Go Get This Book! Wonder who the next Reaper book will feature? Maybe Blade? Hope Sarah McCarty continues with the Reaper series. This book answered some questions about reapers but leaves a lot of answers to be found. Happy reading!
I have enjoyed Ms. McCarty's paranormal books very much, and Reaper's Vow was no exception. The minor drawbacks to this installment were that the plot begins by dropping Cole into a fight with a number of wolves, and it's not very clear which wolves are attacking him or that there are factions among the shifters. Also, we are given a few limited glimpses into some world conspiracy of some reapers wanting to eradicate other reapers, but we never really learn much about it, and it does not seem to affect the plot. Finally, the book ended quite abruptly with Cole & Miranda & their daughter leaving the Reaper enclave, despite all the earlier discussion that such a resolution would not be allowed and would not protect them from attacks by several different factions of Reapers. This would NOT be a good book to introduce a reader to Ms. McCarty!
My hope is that this book contains a lot of setup for the next book in the series, and it will all make sense after I read the next one. Because I enjoy Ms. McCarty's characters, her insertion of paranormal into otherwise natural areas and historic times, and her overall character-building.
